Foundation granted special consultative status by UN

The Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation has been granted special consultative status by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations organisation.

ECOSOC consultative status enables the Foundation to engage with the Council and its subsidiary bodies, the Human Rights Council and, under specific conditions, some meetings of the General Assembly and other intergovernmental bodies, as well as with the United Nations Secretariat.

NGOs in consultative status are not considered part of the United Nations system.
