When Jaiteh Lamin was severely injured after falling two stories from the construction site in Malta where he worked, his employer, Glen Farrugia, allegedly drove him away from the site and abandoned him in the road.
With the support of the Public Interest Litigation Network (PILN), Lamin is now being legally represented in the criminal case against Farrugia by Dr Cedric Mifsud and Dr Gianluca Cappitta from Mifsud & Mifsud Advocates. Yesterday, Lamin testified in the court case by videolink from the hospital where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries. The criminal proceedings are ongoing.
The PILN is a project of the Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation. It is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants Active Citizens Fund, which is operated in Malta by SOS Malta.
